GRP skirting board

Advantages of GRP skirting boards

GRP skirting (glass fiber reinforced plastic) is particularly suitable for use on staircases, especially in combination with railing constructions. Thanks to their high stability and resistance, they can withstand the mechanical loads that often occur in the area of handrails, posts and banisters. GRP skirting boards not only protect the wall ends, but also ensure a clean, professional finish of the railing construction to the floor and wall.

Thanks to their resistance to water and moisture, they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, for example in open stairwells, balcony staircases or escape stairs. Their seamless finish prevents dirt, dust or moisture from accumulating in the transition areas - particularly important in frequently frequented areas and public buildings.

Easy installation even with complex staircase geometries

Finishings often have to be precisely adapted to posts, handrail supports and railing connections, especially in staircase constructions with railings. This is where GRP skirting boards demonstrate their flexibility: They can be cut precisely to size, guided neatly around banister supports and securely fastened. Whether screwed, glued or fitted with clips - the various fixing options offer scope depending on the structural conditions. This means that even curved flights of stairs or complicated corner solutions can be implemented easily and cleanly.

Low-maintenance and durable

GRP skirting boards offer an extremely durable solution, especially for staircase constructions with balustrades, where there is regular mechanical stress from foot traffic and contact with posts or supports. Their impact- and scratch-resistant surface withstands even heavy use and reliably protects the wall and floor connections in the railing installation area. Soiling, for example from shoe abrasion or moisture, can be easily removed without the use of special cleaning agents. As a result, the strips remain functional and visually appealing in the long term - even with high frequency of use.
